This lovely impressive Irish-Victorian building was erected in the mid-19th century. The hotel formerly was home to the Hackett family, including Dr. Hackett a friend and supporter of Charles Stuart Parnell during the 1880's Land Wars, Francis Hackett (1883-1962) acclaimed biographer, and novelist Frances Hackett (1884-1963), his sister.

Kilkenny-Castle-Luxury

This lovely Kilkenny hotel was leased to the Hibernian Bank in 1901. It was rebuilt and the original building was extended the over the next four years. In the 1960's when the Hibernian Bank became the Bank of Ireland, the building was acquired by the Avonmore Food Group. In 1998 the present owners purchased the property. Following an extensive renovation of the building, the Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel opened its doors to guests in May 2000.

The Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel now offers 46 elegant guest rooms, each of which offers a soothing ambiance to travelers.
